NBN 50 prices have been on the rise since November last year, so you'll find most plans cost around $70 for the first 6 months before jumping up to around $80 after.

That being said, a few budget providers like SpinTel and Flip are still priced on the cheaper side so make sure you compare your options to find the right NBN plan for your budget.

Is an NBN 50 plan right for me?

Not only is the NBN 50 plan the most popular speed tier on Finder, but it's also the most popular in Australia. According to the ACCC, 58% of Australians are on NBN 50 plans. So yes, it's likely an NBN 50 plan could be right for you.

Is NBN 50 fast enough?

NBN 50 plans come with download speeds of up to 50Mbps and upload speeds of up to 20Mbps. 50Mbps should be enough to handle multiple video streams, gaming, browsing, downloading and more. It's an ideal speed for a household of 2–3 people.

Expert tip: Not all NBN plans on the same tier are equal. Look out for the advertised typical evening speeds on the plan. You want to aim for anything close to the maximum speed available on the tier, which would be 50Mbps, to really get your money's worth.
