I have an NBN 50 plan and have never had any problems in my 4-person household. Even when all 4 people are online at the same time streaming or gaming, the connection holds up fine and there are no buffering or lag issues.— Mark Neilsen, utilities writer and broadband expert
NBN 50 plans come with download speeds of up to 50Mbps and upload speeds of up to 20Mbps. 50Mbps should be enough to handle multiple video streams, gaming, browsing, downloading and more. It's an ideal speed for a household of 2–3 people.
Expert tip: Not all NBN plans on the same tier are equal. Look out for the advertised typical evening speeds on the plan. You want to aim for anything close to the maximum speed available on the tier, which would be 50Mbps, to really get your money's worth.
