How do I apply for the AMP Saver Account?

If after considering all of your savings options you have decided that the AMP Saver Account is right for your saving goals, than you can begin your application online by clicking “Go to Site”.

Eligibility to apply online

You should check the eligibility requirements first in order to ensure that you will qualify for this savings product:

  • Minimum age. This account is only available for individuals aged 18 or older.
  • Residency requirements. You must be an Australian citizen or resident that is able to provide proof of being in Australia when the account is opened.
  • Tax file number. While providing your tax file number (TFN) or exemption code is not mandatory, it will prevent AMP from having to deduct taxes at the highest marginal rate.

Documentation required to apply online

In order to be able to complete the application quickly and correctly you will need to have the following documentation:

  • Identification. AMP is required by law to verify your identity before issuing you an account. This is usually done by using a photo identification document such as a passport or driver’s licence.
  • Account information. Existing AMP customers will have to provide their current account number. You will also have to provide the details of an account that you wish this one to be linked to.

What happens after I've applied online?

If you choose to have AMP send you the forms needed to verify your identity you will need to wait approximately 3 business days for them to be posted. Once AMP has received those details regarding your identity, the account will be activated and details sent to you within 2 business days.

    What is the daily transfer limit to another bank using online banking? Does the transfer involve SMS messaging or a token, like a few other banks?

      According to their terms and conditions, If an external transfer (that is, a transfer to another bank, building society or credit union) to be processed on any particular Business Day is made by:
      a. 4.00pm (Sydney time), and
      b. in respect of instructions received via My AMP, the time specified on our website,
      the transfer will be complete on that Business Day subject to any errors, difficulties or faults in providing the service. If the transfer is completed on a non-Business Day or after 4.00pm (Sydney time) (or the time specified on our website) on a Business Day, the transfer will be completed on the next Business Day, subject to any errors, difficulties or faults in providing the service.
      My AMP is AMP Bank’s online internet banking service that allows you to conduct transactions and make enquiries in a secure way. The AMP app provides access to a Mobile Banking service for payment and funds transfer functions through My AMP. You may refer to directly to their website for additional information.

    After the 4 months intro- interest rate and I decide to close my account, will there be:
    - Cancellation/ Closing Account fee
    - Any other fee tied with this account?

    And is there a depository requirement?

      Thanks for leaving a question on our page.

      If you decide to close your account after 4 months, you won’t be charged with cancellation or closing account fees.

      The AMP Saver Account has no deposit requirements to receive the bonus interest offer. It also has no monthly keeping fees.
