This bank account charges no monthly fees and doesn’t require you to meet any ongoing deposit conditions, either. You’ve got the option of linking your account to an AMP Saver Account which offers a competitive bonus interest rate for the first four months after opening the account.
You’ll get a Visa Debit Card with this bank account which you can use to make unlimited free EFTPOS purchases in Australia. You can also link the card to Google Pay or Samsung Pay to make contactless payments with your phone. It doesn’t yet offer Apple Pay, so if you’re an iPhone user you won’t be able to use your phone for purchases with this account.
You can use all AMP ATMs for free, as well as all Big Four bank ATMs and all rediATMs in Australia. There are fees to use overseas ATMs though, so keep this in mind when you’re travelling.
