You can choose from a standard policy or custom cover.
Pros
Its comprehensive policy gives you 90% back. Out of 15 pet insurance policies we compared on Finder, only 3 others also offer more than this.
Its $25,000 annual benefit limit is a strong showing, near the top of the market.

Choosing Petsy pet insurance involves several functional considerations regarding coverage flexibility and claim management. The following points outline the technical features of their policies:
No sub-limits on conditions. Unlike many policies that cap payments for specific issues like tick paralysis or cruciate ligament surgery, this provider applies the full annual limit to all approved claims.
Customisable coverage levels. Policies allow for adjustments to the annual limit, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, the reimbursement percentage of 80% or 90%, and the annual excess starting from $0.
Upfront pre-existing condition assessment. Upon starting a policy, the insurer offers a review of the pet’s medical history to clarify which conditions are excluded before a claim is ever made.
Direct-to-vet payments. The claims process includes an option where the insurer pays the veterinary clinic directly, reducing the initial out-of-pocket requirement for the owner.
Age-based limit bonuses. Pets enrolled before six months of age receive a permanent 20% increase to their annual benefit limit, while those enrolled between six and twelve months receive a 10% bonus.
Coverage for non-standard treatments. Optional add-ons are available for costs typically excluded by other providers, such as dental illnesses, behavioral therapy, and specialised treatments like acupuncture or hydrotherapy.

How to make a claim
Here is the process for submitting a claim:
Pay the vet bill. You must first settle the cost of treatment directly with your veterinarian at the time of the consultation or procedure.
Request an Itemised Invoice. Ensure you obtain a detailed tax invoice from the vet that lists the specific treatments, medications, and dates of service.
Provide clinical records. For new claims, or if requested, you must provide the full clinical history and medical records for your pet from all vets who have treated them.
Submit via the portal. Access the Petsy Portal to upload digital copies of your paid invoices and any supporting medical documentation.
Assessment and reimbursement. The claim is reviewed based on your policy's benefit percentage and applicable excess; if approved, payment is made directly to your nominated bank account via EFT.
Submission deadline. Claims should be submitted as soon as possible, ideally within 90 days of the treatment date, to ensure all information is current and accessible.

Important information about this website
Finder makes money from featured partners, but editorial opinions are our own.
Finder is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stand by our editorial principles.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Compensation received from the providers featured on our site can influence which products we write about as well as where and how products appear on our page, but the order or placement of these products does not influence our assessment or opinions of them, nor is it an endorsement or recommendation for them.
Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
Please read our website terms of use and privacy policy for more information about our services and our approach to privacy.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
