CovaU Energy is a retailer that sells power and gas to customers in NSW, VIC and QLD. It has only a few plans, and it focuses on guaranteed ongoing discounts.
CovaU sells gas and electricity plans to residents of Queensland, NSW and Victoria. It has one or two choices for power and gas in each state. There are no lock-in contracts for energy plans with CovaU.
Available in QLD and NSW, this plan provides variable rate electricity with an ongoing guaranteed discount. It also comes in a "Freedom Solar" version, which provides a solar feed-in tariff for customers who have solar panels but is otherwise identical to the regular Freedom Plus plan.
Only available in VIC, this plan provides simple variable rate electricity with a guaranteed discount that has a benefit period of 12 months. If you pay by direct debit, you can get a further discount on your bill.
Only available in VIC, this plan is similar to the Super Saver plan and includes both a 12-month guaranteed discount and a small direct-debit payment discount. It also comes as a "Smart Solar" plan, which is the same as the regular Smart Saver but has a feed-in tariff for solar customers.
Available to residents of QLD and NSW, this plan has variable rate gas with a guaranteed ongoing discount on your whole bill. Occasionally, there are sign-up offers attached to this, but they aren't always available.
Available to VIC residents only, you'll get variable rate gas with an ongoing guaranteed discount plus a small additional discount if you choose to pay via direct debit. You'll receive a $50 credit when you sign up online.
While CovaU will not install a solar system for you, it does offer plans with feed-in tariffs. Its Freedom Solar and Smart Solar plans have feed-in tariffs that are about average for the three states.
There's no dedicated management app to install on your phone. However, you can log onto your account on the company's website, which lets you manage your account, pay bills, update details and check your usage.
Important notes: The estimated price we show by default is based on a single rate tariff. On your bill this might be known as a 'peak tariff', 'peak only' or an 'anytime tariff'. There are other tariff types available to customers and you may need to contact your provider if you are on these tariffs:
The price estimate should not be used as an official quote, but an indication of what your costs may be on the plan. It varies based on whether you provide us with your bill details. You can learn more here.
