Pre-order the new iPhone 12 with Telstra and get 5G access if you're within its coverage area.

Following the reveal of the latest iPhone on Wednesday morning, Telstra has unleashed its plan pricing for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Being the first 5G phone to come from Apple, you now have the chance to access 5G speeds if you're within the coverage area. And what better way to access 5G than on Australia's largest 5G network?

Compare iPhone 12 plans from Telstra and take advantage of 5G speeds in selected areas.

Eagle-eyed iPhone fans might have even spotted Telstra's logo on the screen during the launch event when 5G networks were being discussed. Telstra is currently providing 5G to 41% of Australia's population and aims to increase this number to 75% by June 2021.

But the thing with 5G and Telstra is that it's not available on all its plans. Unlike Optus and Vodafone who have 5G access included in all their SIM-only plans, you won't be able to get 5G on Telstra's cheapest plan.

5G access is only included on Telstra's Medium, Large and Extra Large SIM-only plans. So while you don't necessarily have to pay extra to get 5G on your phone, it's still seen as a premium feature from Telstra since it's not available on all its plans.

Besides 5G access, signing up to one of Telstra's more expensive plans gives you:

  • Data-free sports streaming including AFL, NRL, netball and more
  • Data-free music streaming of Apple Music
  • Free access to the Telstra Air WiFi network
  • Telstra Plus points which you can use to redeem rewards such as AirPods, smart home products and more
