Snag a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 with FREE TV

Telstra, Vodafone, Optus and Samsung are giving away freebies with pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3.

It's finally here. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 was unleashed at the Samsung Unpacked event, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3, and pre-order sales are officially on.

The devices will then officially be on shelves by 10 September.

How much do the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 cost in Australia?

The starting price for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is $2,499, with colour options in Phantom Black, Phantom Green and Phantom Silver.

You can either choose the 256GB or 512GB models that come with a 4500mAH long-lasting battery and are S-Pen compatible.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 will set you back at least $1,499 and can be bought in Phantom Black, Cream, Green and Lavender. Both 128GB and 256GB models are available.

Here's everything you need to know about getting on the flip-fold train early, especially if you're after some spicy pre-order deals from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone.

How to get a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3 with Telstra

Sign up with Telstra and you'll also get a 43-inch Samsung AU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV thrown in for free.

That means one thing only: entertainment galore and some play time with new tech.

Excited yet? We hear you.

However, there are some things you should know before getting on a Telstra phone plan:

  • You'll need a month-to-month Telstra mobile plan (medium or above) to purchase either of the phones. Prices start at $55 a month for 40GB and go up to $115 monthly for 180GB.
  • There's a limit of 1 TV per device purchased and a limit of 5 TVs per customer.
  • You'll need to redeem your TV before 15 October 2021 by providing proof of purchase and the IMEI number of your device.
  • Once you pre-order the phone and add a medium Telstra phone plan (or above), you'll get fast-tracked to a gold membership. Benefits include Telstra Plus and more.

Keep in mind that leaving Telstra before the 24-month mark will mean paying off the remaining cost of your device outright.

Pre-ordering a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3 with Vodafone

Vodafone is also coming in hot with its pre-order deal for the Galaxy Z series.

Sign up for a Vodafone mobile plan by 9 September, pair it with either the Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3 and you will be eligible for an accessory bundle valued at up to $299 and $258 respectively.

Additionally, if you stay connected to a Vodafone mobile plan and trade in an eligible Samsung phone in good working order before 14 October, you could get up to $1,299 of extra value.

The cheapest Vodafone mobile plan you can get (to pair with your handset repayment plan) is $40 a month for 40GB.

Go with Optus if you're in the market for a new watch

You'll need to sign up to a mobile plan with Optus if you're keen to pre-order one of the latest Galaxy Z Series devices.

Both phones come with a Galaxy Watch4 LTE (44mm) edition in black (RRP $549). This offer is exclusive to Optus only.

What's the handset repayment plan from Optus?

Optus is highlighting the plans below for Samsung's Galaxy Z series.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 3 (256GB). Pay $124.40 a month for 36 months. This includes its $55 mobile plan + $69.40 handset repayment with 80GB included monthly. The minimum total cost comes out to $2,553.40 (which includes your first month's mobile plan as well).
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3 (128GB). Pay for $96.62 a month for 36 months. This includes $55 for your mobile plan + $41.62 handset repayment with 80GB included monthly. The minimum total price comes out to $1,553.40 (which includes your first month's mobile plan as well).

Which provider is offering the best Z series deal?

If you're hoping to buy your phone outright and don't want to be tied to a mobile plan from Optus, Telstra or Vodafone, we recommend heading to the Samsung website directly.

Between 12 August and 9 September 2021 inclusive, Samsung Australia is giving away a pre-order bonus which comes with a choice of 3 packages.

  • Free pair of Galaxy Buds Pro headphones
  • A "Productivity Pack" comprising the S Pen Pro, Smart Keyboard and a Universal Stand
  • A "Power Pack" comprising a Flip Cover with S Pen and Trio Wireless charger accessory

If that doesn't hit any of your sweet spots, the stronger choice is between Telstra and Optus depending on which tech you're after.

Vodafone is only promising if you have a good working eligible Samsung phone to trade in.

Whether you're after the latest iPhone or Samsung on a plan, you can compare mobile plans from over 30 providers in one place.
