E.Tel mobile review: Our verdict

E.Tel's monthly plans are fairly priced compared to similar plans in our database, and occasionally offer promotional discounts for new customers.

With international call minutes, a free travel eSIM and PAYG roaming included, you get a little bit more than your no-frills SIM-only plans.

E.Tel could be right for you if:

  • You want international inclusions without paying more. All monthly plans come with up to 300 international call minutes and a free travel eSIM.
  • Local support matters. E.Tel's customer support team operates out of North Sydney in New South Wales.
  • You're heading overseas. The free travel eSIM included with every monthly plan can save you up to $150 on roaming costs.

But keep in mind that E.Tel:

  • Only offers 4G coverage. If 5G access is important to you, you'll need to look at other providers on the Optus network.
  • May not work for those with high data needs. With only three monthly plans topping out at 60GB, heavy data users may find better value elsewhere.
  • Requires you to call before activating roaming. You'll need to contact E.Tel a few days before travelling to set up international roaming on your account.

E.Tel coverage

E.Tel uses the Optus 4G network for mobile coverage.

The Optus network reaches 98.5% of the population.

You'll get identical coverage to a plan bought directly from Optus.

E.Tel customer service

The E.Tel customer support team can assist you with questions and issues Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6pm, and weekends 10am to 5pm. You can:

  • Ring up the customer support line.
  • Send an email enquiry (though this may have a slower response).

Good to know: E.Tel has a local Australian customer support team based in North Sydney, NSW.
