As one of Australia's three largest energy companies, AGL offers energy plans specifically tailored to both small and large businesses. With AGL, businesses can take advantage of 24/7 phone or online support and opt in to carbon neutral plans.
What plans are offered for small businesses?
AGL has a couple of plans available for small businesses in NSW, VIC, SA, QLD and WA. Small businesses are those with up to 10 sites that spend less than $30,000 on electricity and less than $50,000 on gas each year.
Electricity
AGL has two electricity plans on offer for small businesses in VIC, NSW, SA and QLD.
Business Essentials
The Business Essentials plan provides fixed rate electricity on a 30-day payment term, and rates are fixed for 12 months before reverting to variable. There are no contracts and no exit fees.
Business Essentials Saver
The Business Essentials Saver plan offers variable rate electricity with a 14-day payment term.
There are no lock-in contracts or exit fees.
Gas
There are two business gas plans from AGL for small businesses, available in VIC, NSW, QLD and WA.
Business Essentials
Business Essentials supplies natural gas on a fixed rate with a 30-day payment term. After 12 months, your rates will no longer be fixed and become variable again. There are zero exit fees.
Business Essentials Saver
There re no lock-in contracts on the Business Essentials Saver plan. Gas is supplied at a variable rate with a 14-day payment term.
What plans are offered for large businesses?
AGL defines large businesses as those with over 10 sites that spend more than $30,000 on power and $50,000 on gas each year. They don't publish their energy plans and contracts for these businesses online, but large businesses will get access to the AGL Large Business New Connections team, which offers:
- Updates via SMS and email.
- A dedicated contact phone number and email address.
- Online access so the business can request new connections, and track connection progress in real time.
What tools does AGL offer specifically for businesses?
- AGL Large Business New Connections Team, which helps large businesses get connected more easily and efficiently.
- 24/7 call centre access or online support.
- Flexible payment options.
- Access to EOFY and GST statements.
- Carbon neutral plans, available for small businesses. Pay extra to have the carbon emissions from your electricity plan balanced out by carbon offset investment.
