CMobile offers AAA value SIM plans on the Vodafone and Telstra networks.

CMobile is a budget-focused prepaid and postpaid mobile provider with a unique pitch: It offers the option to use either the Telstra network or the Vodafone network. If you choose a CMobile Red plan you'll be connected to Vodafone’s 4G network; if you opt for a CMobile Blue plan, you'll be connected on the Telstra 3G/4G network.

While Telstra’s Blue mobile plans might seem like the premium choice by anyone’s measure, you only have access to parts of Telstra’s 4G/3G network. In contrast, CMobile’s Red plans get you full access to the Vodafone 4G/LTE network. As such, the Red Vodafone plans come at a higher price.

At the Red plan’s highest tier, you'll pay $79.90 per month for 20GB of data per month with unlimited calls and text. At the Blue plan’s highest tier, you'll pay $64.90 for 20GB per month with unlimited calls and texts. If you’re a city slicker, the Red Vodafone plans might meet your needs but if you’re rural or even just a little out of reach, you may want to opt for a Blue Telstra plan.

It’s also worth noting that CMobile’s Red plans are prepaid and its Blue plans are postpaid (meaning you’ve got to recharge Red plans prior to use and pay a monthly bill for CMobile’s Blue plans).

The best course of action is to suss out your coverage with both providers, which you can do over at CMobile’s website.

On the whole, CMobile offers access to two of the largest mobile networks in Australia at a reasonable price.
