What's not covered?

According to the product notes, the following are not covered:

  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Treatment during waiting periods
  • Routine care (unless added as an optional extra)
  • Elective procedures or non-essential cosmetic treatments
  • Conditions not treated by a licensed vet
  • Any exclusions as outlined in the Product disclosure statement

How to make a claim

You can choose the method that works best for you from the options below:

  • GapOnly (in-clinic). If your vet is a partner, they can submit the claim during your visit. This usually takes about 10 minutes, allowing you to pay only the "gap" between the invoice total and your policy benefit.
  • Veterinary eClaim. You can ask your vet to submit an electronic claim on your behalf after treatment. After Orivet reviews and approves the digital submission, the reimbursement is deposited into your account.
  • Submit online. If your vet cannot submit the claim for you, the fastest DIY method is online through the Pet Portal. You will need to upload itemised invoice showing it has been paid including individual treatment costs that add up to the total and the medical examination notes from your vet.
