Why choose AAMI pet insurance?

AAMI pet insurance offers three levels of cover for dogs and two levels of cover for cats. There are also many other perks that come with opting for an AAMI pet insurance policy, including:

  • GapOnly payments. GapOnly is available at participating vets where customers will only pay the difference between the vet’s invoice and the eligible claim benefit under your pet insurance policy.
  • 24/7 access to Live Vet Support. As an AAMI customer, you’ll have 24/7 access to vet advice and support. This can be accessed via AAMI’s Pet Portal where you can start a live chat with a qualified vet in minutes.
  • Optional routine care benefit. You can get cover for routine expenses for your pet by adding routine care to your policy. This includes cover for things like desexing, teeth cleaning, behavioural therapy and more.
  • Access to myPetPass. As AAMI pet insurance is underwritten by petinsurance.com.au, customers can unlock exclusive perks, such as discounts on pet prescription medication and flea, tick and work treatments and savings on premium pet food.

What isn't covered by an AAMI pet insurance policy?

To ensure you know exactly what is and isn't covered, it’s recommended to thoroughly read the PDS. Here are some of the areas AAMI pet insurance does not cover:

  • Pre-existing conditions (some conditions are eligible for review after an 18-month period)
  • Elective procedures and treatments
  • Dental care (unless Platinum cover or optional Dental Illness Benefit is selected)
  • Your pet not being protected through reasonable precautions to prevent injury or illness
  • Day-to-day care

For a full list of exclusions, read the product disclosure statement.
