PHOTOS: First look at the new Melbourne Qantas Club Lounge

The new Qantas Club lounge will open to customers in November.
Qantas has given its customers a sneak peek at its new domestic Qantas Club Lounge at Melbourne Airport this week.
The work on the new Qantas Club and Business Lounge kicked off in January and the construction of the Business Lounge will begin this week. Together, the lounges will have the capacity to accommodate around 130 more people than before.
Pictured below, the Qantas Club features modern finishings, a new reception for guests as well as a revamped bar and expansive buffet. Ranging from earthy tones to greys and aquamarine, the lounge’s interior colour palette is inspired by Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road. The new lounge will offer 10% more seating, offering room for around 530 guests.
The interior design differs between lounges, but both the refurbished Qantas Club and Business Lounge will boast all-day barista coffee, seasonal dining with hot and cold options as well as a “quench hydration station” with a selection of premium non-alcoholic beverages. You can stay productive in the lounge thanks to business facilities, wireless printing and high-speed Wi-Fi as well as an increased number of device-charging access points.
“We’re excited to open the first stage of the lounge redevelopment project with a new Qantas Club,” said Qantas’ head of product strategy and development Philip Capps. “Melbourne is one of our busiest ports and we had customer feedback front of mind when we embarked on this comprehensive redesign.”
