Qantas Points Plane bonanza: All the routes and best deals

30% discount on regional flights across 2022.
Qantas' popular Points Plane is returning.
33 domestic regional routes will see every single seat available to book as a Classic Reward during August 2022.
The number of points needed to book on those services will also be cut by 30%.
That 30% off will apply to any Classic Reward on the 33 routes for travel between 1 June and 30 November 2022.
Destinations in the promotion include Cairns, Townsville, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Broken Hill, Mount Gambier and Hobart.
In total, more than 130,000 reward seats will be available during August, Qantas said.
We've listed every single route that's available at the end of this story.
To score a Points Plane seat, you'll need to book before 15 May 2022.
"We've seen a huge increase in demand for regional travel since the start of the pandemic and these Points Planes will help tens of thousands of frequent flyers discover regional Australia this winter," Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said in a statement announcing the promotion.
Classic Rewards are one of the best-value ways to use your Qantas Points.
That's especially true with regional routes, as seats on these flights are often expensive.
For instance, Melbourne-Merimbula typically costs over $200 one way, but is available for just 5,600 Qantas Points.
That works out to an effective value of over $35 per 1,000 points spent, well above my minimum target of $20.
Usually, only a couple of seats are available on regional services as Classic Rewards.
So having a whole "Points Plane" available makes it much easier to get value for your points.
