Why choose Everyday Pet Insurance?

Here are some of the main reasons why it might be worth getting a policy with Everyday Pet Insurance.

  • GapOnly®. Everyday Pet Insurance lets you claim your benefit on the spot at participating vet clinics, so you won't have to worry about getting reimbursed - you'll only need to pay the gap (e.g. the amount not covered by your policy).
  • Higher annual limits than most of its competitors. Everyday Pet Insurance offers a $35,000 annual limit, which is higher than other pet insurers. There are also no sub-limits per condition for added peace of mind.
  • Supports PetRescue. Your new policy will help PetRescue build a safer future for rescue pets in Australia.

What's not covered by Everyday Pet Insurance

Every policy comes with exclusions. You can usually find them in the general exclusions section of the product disclosure statement (PDS) on the provider's website page. With Everyday Pet Insurance, you won't be covered for the following:

  • Pre-existing conditions (e.g. an illness your pet had before you bought a policy)
  • Preventative/routine items such as food, vitamins, vaccinations and microchipping (unless you have optional routine care cover).
  • Certain treatments and conditions such as the following:
  • Accessories like pill poppers
  • Cell-replacement therapies including (but not limited to) stem cell therapy
  • Elective treatments
  • Negligence by you
  • Consequential loss, including economic loss and loss of enjoyment

Remember, this is just a summary. For a full list of exclusions, customers should read the PDS.

How to submit an Everyday Pet Insurance claim

You can submit your claim online through the MyPet Portal via the My Insurance Portal. Follow these steps to complete the process:

  1. Log in. Log into your acccount and navigate to the MyPet Portal.
  2. Gather documentation. Obtain an itemised, paid invoice from your veterinarian. This document must show individual treatment items and the total amount paid. Request the vet's consultation notes as well, if available.
  3. Upload documentation. Upload digital copies or clear photos of your itemised invoice and any accompanying vet notes to the portal.
  4. Provide details. Fill in the required fields regarding your pet's condition, the veterinary visit, and the specific treatments received.
  5. Submit. Review the attached documents and entered data for accuracy, then submit the claim for processing.
