Submit online via the Pet Portal You can lodge a claim 24/7 through the Australian Unity Pet Portal. Simply log in, upload a copy of your itemised tax invoice and the relevant consultation notes, and submit. This digital process allows you to track the status of your claim at any time.
Request a Vet-assisted eClaim Many veterinary clinics can submit an electronic claim on your behalf. Once your pet has been treated, ask your vet to send the invoice and clinical records directly to us, reducing the paperwork you need to handle yourself.
FAQs
Australian Unity’s pet insurance has waiting periods before you can claim for certain conditions. While accidents incur no waiting periods, there are waiting periods for illnesses and dental conditions. We recommended checking the PDS for exact waiting periods for specific illnesses and treatments.
You can use any licensed vet in Australia with Australian Unity pet insurance, which means you aren’t restricted to a particular network of clinics when claiming for treatment.
Pre-existing conditions are not covered under Australian Unity pet insurance. Some temporary conditions may become eligible if they haven’t shown symptoms for a period (as defined in the policy), but chronic pre-existing issues will most likely be excluded from cover.
