  • You can save up to 30% if you buy online and bundle with contents insurance.

Cons

  • Flood cover isn't included as standard. You'll have to pay extra if you want it.
  • Qantas doesn't offer cover for environmental upgrades, but we found 28 brands that do.
  • Guest contents is capped at $1,000 but some brands cover up to $7,000.

Price

As part of our 2024 awards, our insurance experts researched 45 home insurance brands and got over 400 quotes. This research showed the average cost of home insurance is $2,044, Qantas was cheaper than average at $1,409. However, Qantas doesn't cover flood damage as standard so the price will likely increase if you need to add this protection to your policy. There are still cheaper home insurance policies available including AAMI, Budget Direct and ING, but keep in mind that the best home insurance for you may depend on more than just price.

Remember, your quote may look different as pricing is highly dependent on specific situations.
