Qantas home insurance complaints

We looked at home insurance complaint data from the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) between July 2021 to June 2022. The data breaks down different underwriters and compares their business size to the number of complaints processed.
When comparing insurers, keep in mind that insurers with a larger market share serve more customers so can potentially get more complaints.

Qantas home insurance is underwritten by Auto & General Insurance Company Limited. The information includes data from other insurers Auto & General underwrites. Here's an overview of how it did:

  • It had significantly fewer complaints compared to other large businesses (and even some medium ones).
  • It received 11 complaints but only 3 were resolved directly with the customer; the other had to be escalated by AFCA.

Bottom line about Qantas home insurance

Qantas home insurance is ideal if you want an insurer that does Qantas Points and has a solid complaints record, though there are bigger sign-up deals available.
