TPG keeps its overall plan prices lower than some of the other big providers:
While TPG comes with big brand energy and straightforward NBN plans, it doesn't come with any exciting features that other major providers may offer, such as entertainment bundles or a 4G back-up modem. It used to provide email addresses with its internet plans, but stopped this as of September 2023.
TPG offers a diverse range of communication services to both residential and business users. It has NBN, Fibre Optic and Ethernet broadband access, telephony services, SIM Only Mobile plans and various business networking solutions.
"I've been with TPG for over 5+ years and moved houses twice over that time. I initially signed up because they were the cheapest plan for someone regularly working from home and for Netflix data. The reason why I've stayed with TPG is because they have been so easy to use during house moves, both times it's been working by the time I got the keys. When I've had to call with issues - they've always been easy to get hold off. The only area I'd improve is their online experience. When I need to change bank details or have missed a payment that I need to fix, it's a bit old and clunky."
As of April 2026, TPG placed 4th (out of 10 providers) when it came to download speeds during busy periods of the day. According to the ACCC Measuring Broadband Australia Report, it delivered maximum plan speeds 101.4% of the time during the busy hours of the day (7pm-11pm).
Why this matters: The ACCC report was a quarterly measure of a provider's performance based on speeds. It ran until June 2026, when the ACCC published its final report and wound up the programme.
TPG has generally ranked around the middle in recent reports, typically delivering 96–102% of its maximum speeds. However, in the April 2026 report, TPG sat fourth, achieving 101.4% of its advertised speeds. It last topped the report back in April 2021.
TPG has a few ways to get in touch. You can get help by:
The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman covers complaints data from phone and internet customers. In the 2023 Annual Report for the financial year ending June 2023, TPG:
TPG does have one additional feature that may be of interest to you:
Bundling your TPG internet and TPG mobile plan could get you $5 off your SIM Only plan.
TPG's mobile discount doesn't apply to its SIM Only Small plan. You'll need to have one of its other SIM Only plans to take advantage of its bundling discount.
As the NBN 50 is the most common plan in Australia, here's a look at how TPG stacks up against other major internet providers for this tier. Keep in mind we've used ongoing prices for each provider (no promotional discounts applied).

After you've decided on an internet plan that works best for you, it's easy to sign up to TPG.
You just need to enter your address on its website to make sure you can access the plan you've chosen, whether that's NBN or home wireless broadband.
What if I'm moving house?
TPG actually has a specialist house moving team you can call up to arrange your move. TPG advises that it may take between 1-10 business days to hook up your new service.
Be aware that you may need to give your current provider advance notice so you aren't stuck paying for 2 Internet services.
If you'd like more information, see our guide on switching broadband providers.
Can't decide between TPG and iiNet? We've compared the two over a range of categories to find out which provider is better.
Are there phone plans that bundle broadband, fixed phone and mobiles? Will it work on the NBN when it eventually becomes available.
Hi Leif,
It is not through TPG. Southern Phone offers broadband and mobile bundles and Optus offers a discount on its broadband plans for mobile customers.
Thanks,
Brodie
