At the time we moved in to our new house, Kogan was offering a pretty good discount on NBN 100 plans for 6 months. Signing up was fast and easy, and the internet was quite reliable too. With average prices, Kogan comes out as a perfectly good choice for those only looking for a simple budget-friendly deal with a few extra Qantas Frequent Flyer points thrown in the mix.
A big selling point is its $69 modem if you're in the market for a hardware upgrade, which is one of the cheapest upfront costs for a modem in Finder's database. Otherwise you also have the option to bring your own modem to keep your upfront costs low.
Finally, the Kogan Internet Price Pledge sounds good on paper, where you get a Kogan.com voucher for the value of double the difference between the monthly Kogan Internet price you paid and the monthly price of the cheaper offer you submitted. But chances are it will net you maybe a $10–$20 one-time Kogan.com gift voucher at best, if that.
While the monthly cost of Kogan's 4G Home Internet plan is comparable to other providers, it is a 90 day plan. You have to pay for 90 days in advance, or approximately 3 months at a time. That means instead of 3 smaller payments over 3 months, you'll be paying one larger payment every 3 months.
If you're more comfortable paying for things monthly, you'd need to consider this if you want to take up its home wireless internet plan.
Kogan is not included in the ACCC Broadband Performance Report, so the reliability of its speeds cannot officially be verified.
However, based on its advertised typical evening speeds (for busy hours of the day, 7pm–11pm), you can expect to get maximum speeds on its NBN 25 and NBN 50 plans. It falls a bit short for NBN 100 and NBN 250.
Kogan also falls well short with the typical evening speed of its NBN 1000 plan, with the lowest speed in Finder's database where providers state it.
The customer service for Kogan is barebones. There is no option for online account management, meaning you will need to call the customer support team whenever you have an enquiry about your account or need to update your details.
That being said, you can call the service centre on any day of the week between 8am and 8pm.

Signing up to Kogan Internet is fairly simple once you've worked out what plan is right for you. You can just head to their website and sign up from there. You'll need to type in your address to check the plan availability in your area and sign up to the NBN plan of your choice.
What if I'm moving house?
You can select a date during the sign-up process for when you'd like your new Kogan plan to be activated. Keep in mind that it could take up to 5 business days to get connected.
Remember to give your current provider a heads-up in case there's a notice period to account for. You don't want to be stuck paying for 2 internet services.

It’s free to keep your existing Bigpond address for the first 12 months if you switched to Kogan and were no longer Telstra customer. After that though, to keep your Bigpond email address it would cost $79 a year.
