Pros

Maximum yearly benefit of $30,000 is better than the majority of pet insurance on the market.
It has 3 options to suit various budgets.
It can cover up to 90% of eligible vet bills – that's better than most insurers (80% is more typical).

Cons

You get 10% off if you are an ahm or Medibank health member – this is good but only if you have health insurance with those brands.
Its most basic plan has a high $4,000 cap for paralysis ticks (its other options have no sub-limit)

"Medibank’s Pet Max Cover with Extra Care is a small price to pay for the cover that you receive. Their pricing is on the higher end compared to other insurers – but for a few extra dollars a month, it has one of the most comprehensive policies and has been an absolute lifesaver. They have saved me $15,000 in vet fees for a sick kitten. The option to have a no excess policy, with a reimbursement rate of up to 90% (including routine care), for up to $30,000 a year is a no brainer! Hi Mary, The excess is charged per condition, per policy period – so if you claimed for two different conditions any applicable excess would be payable both times.
