4.1 ★★★★★ (34 reviews) Write a review

Pros

  • It can cover up to $31,145 of eligible vet bills per year. That makes it the highest limit available out of 67 policies.
  • Its Essentials Cover reimbursement rate of 90% goes further than the majority of other providers on Finder – the majority cover 80% of your vet bills.
  • Out of 16 policies we looked at, PIA's Major Medical policy is the only one to automatically include routine care with an annual limit towards teeth cleaning and vaccinations.

Cons

  • The Essential plan's $6,000 annual benefit limit is fairly generous, though not quite market-leading.
  • Like many policies, PIA's Pet Essentials cover and Comprehensive cover will not include routine care.
  • If your pet has a chronic pre-existing condition, you won't be covered by Pet Insurance Australia. This is common across all pet insurers.

Well done, PIA
