How we picked theseWhile Future Broadband offers you plenty of choice between NBN plans, its standard plans with unlimited data aren't very good value.
It also charges you $35 on all plans as a set-up fee, whereas most NBN providers no longer charge set-up fees on their plans.
Give Future Broadband a try if:
But you should also consider:
Besides Future Broadband's NBN 12 and NBN 25 plans, the rest of its plans are prices above the average price on Finder for their respective speed tiers.
Its data-capped plans 1,000GB, 2,000GB or 2,500GB are priced more competitively than its unlimited data plans if you're happy with these limits.
A modem from Future Broadband starts from $165, which is slightly higher than the Finder average of $118.
Future Broadband is not part of the ACCC broadband performance report, so the reliability of its speeds cannot be officially verified.
Based on its advertised typical evening speeds for NBN plans, you probably won't hit the maximum speed on most speed tiers. However, its NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans have decent typical speeds compared to other providers in the market.
You can get in touch with Future Broadband in the following ways.
Future Broadband doesn't offer too many extras, but it does have:
Any unused data can be rolled over onto the future months into a data bank where a maximum of 15,000GB of data can be stored.
Future Broadband plans come with PAYG home phone calls by default. If you make regular calls, you can also choose to pay an additional $10 a month for unlimited standard national and mobile calls.
For no set-up fees:
Kogan Internet has some great value NBN plans. You will not need to pay any set-up fees and you can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
For cheaper plans:
Tangerine is a strong contender against Future as it has some of the cheapest NBN plans on Finder, along with 6-month sign-up discounts.
Most of Exetel's plan prices are better than Future's, along with the significant difference of Exetel topping ACCC's broadband performance report multiple times.
Unfortunately, Future Broadband isn't available to sign up to via Finder. You'll need to visit futurebroadband.com.au if you're interested in any of its plans.
Otherwise, you can compare more internet providers to find one that suits your needs.
What if I'm moving house?
You can select a date during the sign-up process for when you'd like your new Future plan to be activated. Keep in mind that it could take up to 7 business days to get connected.
Make sure to give your current provider a heads-up in case there's a notice period to account for. You don't want to be stuck paying for 2 internet services.
