Get up to 20% off Virgin Australia flights with your American Express Velocity card

American Express Velocity card members can save on domestic and international fares for the next two weeks.

American Express Velocity cardholders can fly further for less in the next fortnight. If you use your Amex card to book a selected domestic or international Virgin Australia flight, you can save up to 20% off the total cost. This offer is available until 27 April 2018, but you can save on flights booked for travel up to 31 January 2019.

If you’re an American Express cardholder, you should be able to locate the deal in the "Offers" section of your Amex app. This promotion is exclusive to American Express Velocity card members, which includes the Amex Velocity Platinum, Amex Velocity Escape, Amex Velocity Gold (which is no longer available for new applicants) and Amex Velocity Business card.

You can book at (where the promo code will be automatically applied). Then, enter your valid Velocity Frequent Flyer number to take advantage of the deal. As the offer states, cardholders can save "up to 20%"; you may find that the savings vary depending on your flight. If you’re not set on a particular flight, you should consider comparing a few options to find the flight that has the biggest savings.

As with most sale flights, seats are limited and may not be available at peak times or on all flights, so you may need to allow some flexibility when booking. You should also note that the discount only applies to base fares, so you’ll still have to pay the regular taxes, charges and any other related fees.
