Top up your Opal card to earn 250 bonus flybuys points

How your train trip to work could help you redeem your next free flight.

If you top up your Opal card at Coles by 17 August 2017, you’ll earn 250 bonus flybuys points. This is on top of the regular 1 flybuys points per $1 spent you’d earn on your top up.

So, let’s say that you’re topping up your Opal card with $80. Combining the standard earn rate and bonus points offer, you’d collect 330 flybuys points while this promotion is in place!

To snag the bonus points, log into your flybuys account and activate the offer. Then you'll just need to present your flybuys when you're topping up your account at Coles and the bonus points will be yours. The minimum top up you can load on an adult card is $10, while concession, youth and gold senior pensioner Opal cardholders have a lower minimum top up of $5.

If you’ve linked your flybuys account to your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership, you could also exchange your flybuys points for Velocity Points at an exchange rate of 2,000 flybuys for 870 Velocity Points. This roughly equates to 0.43 Velocity Points for every 1 flybuys point. You can use our flybuys and Velocity calculator to see how many flybuys and frequent flyer points you could earn from your Opal card top up and grocery shop.

So, while this flybuys bonus points offer won’t make a massive dent in your flybuys or Velocity balance, it’s an easy way to boost the value you can get from an everyday expense.

Unfortunately, you can’t top up your Opal at all Coles supermarkets. So, you can browse the full list of participating Coles stores to find the closest one to you.
