What to do if you’ve lost or forgotten your frequent flyer number

Your frequent flyer membership number is the key to earning rewards for flights, partner bookings, reward credit cards and any other deals or promotions. It’s also required for all the other benefits that come from being a member.

But with so many different accounts and numbers to keep track of, it’s easy to lose your frequent flyer information.

To make retrieving it easy, we've outlined how to find your number so you can start reaping the benefits of your membership once again.

How to get your frequent flyer number

Every frequent flyer program has a different approach to retrieving lost or forgotten membership numbers.

More often than not though they will ask you for personal details to retrieve your number.

This can include the following:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• Your residential address
• Date of birth

Aim to provide as much information about yourself and your account as possible to help them locate your membership.

We’ve outlined the process for each of the airline reward programs below.

Qantas Frequent Flyer

• To retrieve your membership number: Call 13 11 31 and select menu option 4 for the Frequent Flyer Service Centre. Consultants are available between 7am and 7pm (AEST) Monday to Saturday.
• Other tips: Search your inbox for past emails from the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. This will usually include your membership number.

Virgin Velocity

• To retrieve your membership number: Go to Velocity's Forgot Membership page and enter your details. Your membership number will then be sent to your email address.
• If you can't remember your details: Call the Membership Contact Centre on 13 18 75 between 8am and 8pm AEDT Monday to Friday.

• Tips: You must enter the email address and the full name that you used to sign up for Velocity otherwise your details may not be sent to you.

KrisFlyer

• To retrieve your membership number: Go to the Retrieve KrisFlyer membership number page and enter the details that you used to register for the frequent flyer program.
• If you can't remember your details: Contact Frequent Flyer Enquires on 02 8228 1188. Or send an email to KF_contact@singaporeair.com.sg

British Airways Executive Club

• To retrieve your membership number: Log into your account with your email address, username and password.
• If you can't remember your details: Follow the online steps to recover your login details or contact an Executive Club service centre on 0344 493 0747 if in the UK or +44 191 4907901 if you're outside the UK.

Etihad Guest

• To retrieve your membership number: Log into your account using your username and password.
• If you can't remember your details: Use your username and email address to request a new password. Alternatively, you can contact the Etihad Guest Service Centre on 1300 532 215 (in Australia) or email guest@etihadguest.com.
• Tip: Send a private message to Etihad via the Etihad Facebook page. This has a fast response rate.

Emirates Skywards

• To retrieve your membership number: Fill out the find your membership number form.
• If you can't remember your details: Call Emirates Australia on 1300 303 777 to speak to a customer service representative.

Marco Polo Club (Cathay Pacific)

• To retrieve your membership number: Fill in the forgot membership number form.
• If you've forgotten your details: Email your details to theclub@cathaypacific.com.

Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific)

• To retrieve your membership number: Go to Retrieve Membership No./Username on the Asia Miles website and enter your details.
• If you've forgotten your details: Contact the 24/7 service centre on 1800 129 264 (in Australia) or email memberservices@asiamiles.com.

Air New Zealand Airpoints

• To retrieve your membership number: Call the Air New Zealand Contact Centre on 1800 803 298 if you’re in Australia, 0800 247 764 if you’re in New Zealand or +64 9 357 3000 from other countries.

Tips for finding and remembering your frequent flyer number

• Provide as much information as possible. When chatting with the customer service team, include details of your account and old addresses and phone numbers. This might help them find your number.
• Keep track of your membership card. Most frequent flyer programs issue you with a card that includes your membership number.
• Check old flight bookings. If you’ve previously flown with an airline as a frequent flyer guest, your membership number might be on old flight bookings or itineraries.
• Search your emails. Some frequent flyer programs send out newsletters and statements that include your membership number. Search your inbox (or junk mail) for the name of the frequent flyer program to see if you can find it.
• Ask a travel agent you’ve previously used. If you’ve made travel arrangements through an agent, it may have your frequent flyer membership details on file. The same is true of online booking services; just log in to your account and see if the information is there.
• Check your credit card account. If you have a frequent flyer credit card that earns points for a particular program, your account should have a record of your frequent flyer membership number.
• Store your number on your phone. Most programs generally have apps that will save passwords as well as your card details.
