AAMI ranked in third-place out of the 21 policies we analysed. It covers the essentials including fire, flood and storm surge but is typically cheaper than other policies.

Budget Direct home insurance

Budget Direct Home and Contents Insurance

Budget Direct's won this year's Finder Award for value because it provides a similar level of cover to other brands but at a lower price. According to our 2023 research, the average policy costs $1,365 per year. That's cheaper than 20 other insurers including QBE, Kogan and Youi.

AAMI came in second-place for value out of the 21 policies we analysed. At an average of $1,188 per year, it offered the cheapest home and contents policy according to our research.

ING Home and Contents Insurance

ING came in third-place out the 21 policies we analysed. Its policies are issued by Auto & General, the same as Budget Direct, which means it offers a very similar level of cover.
