Finder Score for super funds

Finder Score makes comparing superannuation products easier by scoring products out of 10 after assessing their performance, fees and features.

We assess products from over 40 providers based on their risk profile.

Read the full methodology

The information in this table is based on data provided by SuperRatings Pty Limited ABN 95 100 192 283, a Corporate Authorised Representative (CAR No.1309956) of Lonsec Research Pty Ltd ABN 11 151 658 561, Australian Financial Services Licence No. 421445. In limited instances, where data is not available from SuperRatings for a product, the data is provided directly by the superannuation fund.

*Past performance data and fee data is for the period ending September 2025

What are the key features of Superhero Super?

  • Low fees. Superhero's fees for the growth investment option are lower than 75% of comparable super funds, according to an analysis by SuperRatings in March 2024.
  • Direct. This option is for investors who want more control over where their super is invested. You can invest up to 75% of your super directly in ASX300 shares and select ASX-listed ETFs, Listed Investment Companies, hybrids and more.
  • As much control as you want. If direct investment isn't for you, you can choose to take a hands-off approach with a pre-built mix of investments.
  • Automatic insurance cover. Eligible Superhero Super account holders will automatically be enrolled in the Death and Total Permanent Disability cover (TPD) at a monthly premium.
  • Consolidate your super. If you already have a superannuation balance at another provider, you can easily consolidate all of your funds into Superhero.
  • Track your super on the app. Superhero offers an app where you can manage and monitor your superannuation alongside any Superhero share trading accounts.

What investment options are available with Superhero Super?

With Superhero Super you can choose how hands-on or hands-off you are with your investments.

Option 1: Diversified investments. Pre-built diversified mix of investment options makes it easier to choose your portfolio based on how defensive or growth-oriented you want it to be.

Option 2: Single Sector investments. If you have a particular interest in investing in one area, you can pick a single sector to invest in, from

  • Australian Shares
  • International Shares
  • Australian Listed Property
  • Australian Fixed Interest
  • International Fixed Interest
  • Cash

Option 3: Thematics. Choose from different themes. You can choose from:

  • US Tech Giants
  • Asia Tech Tigers
  • Global Healthcare Leaders
  • Global Sustainability Leaders (unhedged)
  • Global Sustainability Leaders (hedged)
  • Australian Sustainability Leaders
  • Gold

Holding limits apply to investments - you must maintain a minimum balance of 25% across the Diversified, and/or Single Sector investment options. Refer to the Superhero Additional Information Guide for full details on the holding limits for each investment option.

Option 4: Direct. For those who want more flexibility, you can invest up to 75% of your super directly in ASX300 shares, select ASX-listed ETFs, listed investment companies, hybrids and cash.

What insurance cover is available with Superhero Super?

You will be automatically enrolled in death and total permanent disability cover when you join Superhero Super. You can choose to opt out of this cover, or reduce your cover. Monthly premiums will be taken from your superannuation balance.

  • Not be applying for, be entitled to, or have been paid TPD or terminal illness benefit from any super fund or life insurance policy.

Note that the insurance information above applies to Superhero Super, not Superhero MySuper. You can read Superhero's Super Insurance Guide (PDF) for more information.

Hi Merzin, Finder is a comparison site, so we can’t answer questions on Superloop’s behalf. In this case, you’ll need to contact the company directly – you can reach them on 1300 675 148.
