The Jetstar Mastercard is underwritten by Macquarie Bank and packed with extra features to reward loyal Jetstar flyers. If you’re a regular Jetstar flyer, it’s one of two cards on the market that earn Jetstar Dollars that you can redeem for travel vouchers with the airline. If you want to earn Qantas Points as you spend, there are some other cards with more competitive earn rates.

How to apply

You can apply for the Jetstar Mastercard online in 15 minutes. Before you get started, check if you meet the eligibility criteria and have the necessary information to complete the application.

Eligibility criteria

  • Income. You must earn a taxable income of at least $30,000 p.a.
  • Credit history. You'll need a good credit score with a healthy credit history to receive approval.

Card benefits

  • $0 annual fee in the first year. Save with no annual fee for the first year. The annual fee reverts to $69 p.a. thereafter.
  • Free flight. If you apply by 30 September 2019 and spend $1,000 on purchases within 60 days of approval, you'll receive a free domestic one-way flight between eligible cities and a complimentary 12-month Club Jetstar membership.

Rates & fees

  • Annual fee. Outside of any promotions, this card charges a standard annual fee of $69 p.a.
  • Purchase rate. While most cards that offer rewards charge high purchase rates, the Jetstar Mastercard charges a competitive 14.99% p.a. on purchases.

      Hi Peter,

Thanks for getting in touch with Finder! Before you transfer your son’s credit card balance to the Jetstar Mastercard, it’s helpful to learn which financial institutions you can and can’t transfer your balance between via this page. As a friendly reminder, review the eligibility criteria of the card before applying and read up on the terms and conditions of the card. Feel free to reach out to the bank if you need any clarifications.

      Hope this helps!

      Best,
      Nikki

I am currently holding a Macquarie bank credit card. If I apply for a Jetstar Mastercard, would I still be eligible to claim the Qantas bonus points of 20k when I have spent the required amount?

    Thanks!

      Hi Shirley,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

You may still apply for this Jetstar Mastercard and will be considered as new customer even if you have a Macquarie Bank credit card so long that you haven’t had any Jetstar Mastercard cards. Please make sure though to read the eligibility criteria, features and details of the card, as well as the relevant PDS/ T&Cs of the card before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you.

      I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other enquiries.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

      Hi Amanda,

Thanks for leaving a question on finder.

You can click HERE to apply for the Jetstar Mastecard online, and the process takes around 10 to 15 minutes. To begin, simply complete an online application form.

Make sure you meet the following eligibility criteria before applying:

      – You’re a permanent Australian resident
      – You’re at least 18 years old
      – You earn at least $30,000 in the form of taxable income
      – You have good creditworthiness

Completing the application requires that you have access to the following:

      – Your Australian driver’s license number (provided you have one)
      – Details of gross annual salary and monthly expenses
      – Name, phone number, and address of your employer
      – If you’re self-employed or retired, contact details of your accountant

While this card offers rewards and charges a low purchase rate and balance transfer offer, you can find other cards with similar features, so make sure you compare a few before making a decision.

      Cheers,
      Joel

      Thanks for your question.

As per Jetstar’s website, you can make your credit card payments through the following options:
      1. Direct debit – Can be paid automatically each month by the due date, from the bank account of your choice. You can also choose to pay any amount equal to, or greater than the minimum payment due.
      2. BPAY – Can be completed through phone or internet banking
      3. Post – You can mail your cheque together with the completed payment slip from your monthly statement
      4. Post Office – Payments can be made at any Australia Post office using cash, EFTPOS and cheques

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,
      Ysa

      Hi Jacki,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

It may have been an expired offer. The current annual fee for Jetstar MasterCard is $59 for the main cardholder, and a $39 fee for each additional cardholder.

For low annual fee credit cards, please refer to our comparison page here.

      I hope this helps.

      September 18, 2015

      Hi Libra,

      Thanks for your question.

According to Jetstar’s balance transfer terms and conditions, you can complete balance transfers of $500 or more from banks, other financial institutions and store cards to your new Jetstar MasterCard account.

Therefore, it would appear that you should be able to transfer your balance from your American Express charge card to the Jetstar MasterCard. To confirm whether you’re eligible to apply, you may wish to contact Jetstar directly.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Sally
