Our verdict

Trade Australian and international shares, ETFs and managed funds on a platform owned by one of Australia's Big Four banks.

ANZ is a well-known, established name in the financial sector. As such, it allows investors to trade with confidence.

Its seamless integration with its banking customers makes it especially useful to those who use the bank for other financial services.

Add in a raft of domestic and international options as well as Qantas points, and the broker is appealing to most investors.

For those new to investing, the news and research can certainly help get you started.

On the downside though, you'll pay more for this service. ANZ is not the cheapest broker around.

Good for

  • International markets
  • Access to advanced tools
  • Earn Qantas Points
  • News, research and live prices
  • Advanced data and monitoring tools

Not so great for

  • No dedicated mobile app
  • Higher brokerage fees especially via phone trading
  • No live chat support

Hi There,

When you mention 0.11% for trades over $28,000, is this referring to 11% or 1.1%?

Is there a reason for ANZ specifically charging service fees (i.e. $19.95 for a quarter to make at least one trade) unlike many other share investing accounts offered by other companies.

Jeni Finder

August 07, 2018

Hi Brett,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

ANZ Share Investing offers various service levels which provide different trading features at different price points. If you had the basic level, which is free then you upgraded to standard, you will then get a fee of $19.95 per quarter.

Hi ,

When I’m Buying Australian Stock it gives me this response Rejected. Value of order is below a marketable parcel – currently $600 (excl. brokerage & fees).

I have placed 600$ worth or less than that at it keeps giving me that response

What does that mean?

October 11, 2017

Hi Rina,

You may need to consider the brokerage and fees in placing your order.

This means apart from the minimum value, you might have to add an amount that would be allocated for said fees.

It’s best to confirm this with their Customer Support should it not work.

I hope this helps.
