Take out health insurance with Bupa in June and you could earn up to 80,000 Velocity Points for families.

Bupa has teamed up with Velocity Frequent Flyer, offering up to 80,000 Velocity Points to members who sign up for cover in June 2017.

Those taking out families and couples cover can earn up to 80,000 Velocity Points and 40,000 Velocity Points on singles policies, when electing to pay their premiums via direct debit.

Bupa is not the first fund to partner with a points provider to incentivise its policies with frequent flyer points rewards.

AHM is offering new members who take out an eligible couples, family or single parents policy the ability to earn up to 55,000 flybuys points. In addition to this, AHM is also offering one month free cover and waivers of two and six-month extras waiting periods until 15 June 2017.

Qantas Assure also offers new members the chance to earn points for taking out health insurance. Join Qantas Assure before 10 July 2017 on an eligible couples or family policy and you can earn up to 75,000 Qantas Points.

With the end of financial year approaching, Bupa Health Insurance growth channels general manager Fabio Tiani highlighted why it is such an important time for people looking for health cover.

"June is such an important month for Australians when it comes to health insurance and the implications for tax purposes and lifetime health cover [LHC] loading for those turning 30," said Tiani.

If you've turned 31 in the last year, make sure you've got cover by 1 July or you will be hit by the LHC.

If you're looking to take out health cover in June, make sure you take advantage of the deals and promotions on offer from Aussie health funds.
