I’m located within 5km’s south of Melb CBD. I currently have Optus NBN – highest plan. WiFi regularly cuts out…have to unplug modem almost every 1-2 weeks to reset. Is this a provider issue?

Without additional information, it’s difficult to diagnose what the problem could be. Are you in a remote location? Does your provider have strong network availability in the area? How old is your modem/wireless router?
As a general rule of thumb, the major networks such as Telstra have a higher reliability rate than their MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), especially if you live rurally.
