How much does it cost to transfer money with BankSA?
When you send an international money transfer via BankSA internet banking, you’ll need to pay a $20 transfer fee. A higher fee is charged if you place a transfer request by visiting a branch.
You should also be aware that the intermediary bank and/or the overseas bank may also impose charges for handling your transfer request. Check with the relevant bank(s) to find out whether any extra fees will apply to your transaction.
Minimum transfer amount and available countries
While no minimum transfer amount is listed on the BankSA website, the maximum daily transfer limit to international accounts is $50,000. Eligible BankSA customers can send international transfers in the following currencies:

You also have the option to trace, amend or cancel your transaction, but the following fees apply:

The registration and transfer process
If you wish to send transfers via your internet banking account, you will first need to register for the BankSA overseas transfer service. You can do this through your online account or by filling out an ‘Internet Banking - Request or Cancel Overseas Telegraphic Transfer Access’ form with your customer details.
You can then access the ‘Overseas Transfers’ function through your internet banking account and provide the details of your transaction, including:
- The amount of money you wish to transfer
- Where the money is going
- The currency you are transferring
- The recipient’s bank account details
