ING Direct exchange rates

As ING Direct International Transfers are offered by OFX, a company that specialises in foreign exchange solutions, customers are able to offer better exchange rates than are typically offered by major banks.

OFX has a large client base, trades large volumes of foreign currency and is also set up to have low overheads, all of which means it can afford to offer its customers better exchange rates. To see how those rates compare, register for a free account online and get a transfer quote.

Hi, I would like to have an account so I can easily send money to Thailand. I want to know how long it would take and if there are any fees. How do I set that up?

      Hi John,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

The process flow is usually like this:

      1. Register for free on their website and log in.
      2. Then you can get quotes, add beneficiary (person or company) details and book deals (a deal is a term used for the purchase of your international currency).
      3. After you submit your details, an ING DIRECT Representative will call to discuss your transfer(s), make sure the system is set up correctly for your needs and answer any questions you may have about the service and process.

They do not charge transaction fees except for transactions under AUD$10,000 (or foreign currency equivalent) per recipient. Please note, for all transactions under this threshold made, a fee of AUD$15 (or foreign currency equivalent) is applied. If a transaction fee is payable, it will be added to the total amount you are required to settle. Additional Third Party Transaction Fees may be applicable also.

You can refer to the Product Disclosure Statement of their site for more details. Alternatively, you may speak to one of their consultants.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi Christina,

      Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately we’re unable to comment on the cost of the exchange rate, but for transfers under AUD $10,000 there is a $15 transaction fee.

      I hope this helps,
