We don't currently have this brand on our panel. But don't fret! You can head to the EBM website or compare a bunch of other landlord insurance companies with Finder.
EBM offers two main landlord insurance options: RentCover Ultra and RentCover Platinum. You can also get Householders Rental cover and RentCover ShortTerm which is designed for properties rented out for less than six months at a time, including holiday homes, Airbnb accommodation and serviced apartments. These policies can cover the building, contents or both again insured events such as:
Here are some of the main inclusions that EBM can cover you for when an insured event occurs and you need to make a claim.
Change of locks following a bailiff eviction
Death of a tenant
Denial of access
Drug lab clean-up
Fire damage to building
Fire damage to contents
Exclusions
EBM's general exclusions are similar to other insurers. You won't be covered for loss or damage related:
Actions of the seas
Faulty design, materials or workmanship
Wear and tear
Illegal activity
Felling or lopping trees at the site
Intentional damage
This isn't an extensive list of EBM's general exclusions. You can find the full list of what's not covered on its PDS.
Bottom line about EBM landlord insurance
EBM landlord insurance is good if you want an insurer that comes with lots of options, including short-term rental cover that can be tailored to your property and your needs. However, it doesn't offer additional add-ons, unlike the majority of insurers.

FAQs about EBM landlord insurance
EBM landlord insurance policies are suitable for the following people:
Landlords who own a home in Australia used for residential purposes that they rent out to tenants under a lease agreement (contents insurance is suitable for landlords that also have contents that will be used by tenants).
Landlords who want financial protection for loss or damage to their property (including contents for those who have furnished properties).
RentCover ShortTerm is suitable for properties rented out for less than six months at a time, including holiday homes, Airbnb accommodation and serviced apartments.
To make an EBM landlord insurance claim, follow these steps:
Contact the EBM RentCover claims team to let them know what's happened. They can help you with the next steps to take.
Take notes and pictures of what happened. This is so that they can see and understand exactly what's happened. Note down the brand, model and serial number of the damage items if possible.
Stay safe and prevent further damage. Try and stop further damage from occurring, but only if it's safe to do so.
You may need to get quotes for repairs. EBM will let you know if you need to do this. A repairer may also need to fill out a report of the damage.
Keep your receipts. So you can get reimbursed for the expenses.
If you've held or currently hold a EBM landlord insurance policy, we'd love to hear from you. Your reviews help other Australians decide if EBM is right for them. Some reviews are from a survey commissioned by Finder.

Important information about this website
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We are committed to our readers and stands by our editorial principles
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labeling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
We make money by featuring products on our site. Compensation received from the providers featured on our site can influence which products we write about as well as where and how products appear on our page, but the order or placement of these products does not influence our assessment or opinions of them, nor is it an endorsement or recommendation for them.
Products marked as 'Top Pick', 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
Please read our website terms of use and privacy policy for more information about our services and our approach to privacy.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
