The launch of the EOS mainnet in June 2018 was one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the 2018 crypto calendar. With the mainnet now live, it's time to look ahead at the planned airdrops to EOS token holders that are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks and months.
What is an airdrop?
An airdrop is when a cryptocurrency project distributes cryptocurrency coins or tokens to its users free of charge. |EOS Cafe||In its own words, EOS Cafe is a "decentralized autonomous corporation (DAC) that is owned by and guided by the owners of BEANS". |Trybe||Trybe offers educational content about cryptocurrency through articles, advice, how-to guides, videos and short courses. Contributors to the platform are paid in ONE tokens, and half of the total supply (50 million tokens) will be airdropped to EOS holders.||ONE||August 2018|
|Qubicles||Qubicles is bringing together employers and agents in its decentralised network to create the next phase in contact centre services. |Emanate||Emanate is service for musicians which provides an opportunity to upload, share, collaborate and release music or stems. Every piece of music that goes through the platform is monetised and tracked using the EOS blockchain, meaning that content creators are able to share without giving their hard work away for free. |YAIR||YAIR uses blockchain technology to secure the value of art, with each piece of digital artwork existing as a limited supply of crypto-tokens. These pieces of artwork are then made available to collectors, traders and enthusiasts around the world.||YAIR||Q3 2018|
|Iryo Network||Iryo is a blockchain-based healthcare network that aims to decentralise and standardise the storage of medical data. The Iryo token will be used at an institutional level to provide access to the platform as well as incentivise users to share their data anonymously with research bodies. |HireVibes||HireVibes is a decentralised jobs platform that rewards users with HireVibes tokens for applying to, or offering successful referrals for, job openings. 250 million HVT (out of a total fixed supply of 350 million HVT) will be airdropped to all EOS token holders within 90 days of the EOS blockchain launch.||HVT||Q3 2018|
|EOSETF||EOSETF is a platform built by Coiner.World on EOS that aims to track market movements and evaluate trade signals based on data analysis and machine learning. The snapshot used for airdrop was take on 25-09-2018 and will be distributed to EOS holders in October.||ETF||October 2018|
|Murmur||Murmur is a self proclaimed "micro blogging dapp" which runs on the EOS blockchain. It is runs on the Android operating system for smartphones, and has enough similarities to twitter to feel familiar. MUR tokens are used as content rewards, for peer-to-peer payments, for in-app purchases. Starting October 26, Murmur will be rewarding new users with MUR tokens for both downloading the app and inviting friends to use it.||MUR||26 October 2018|
|EOSISH||EOSISH is a token produced by My Wish, a user friendly smart contract creation platform. EOSISH are used to pay for smart contract creation fees. The airdrop will be awarded to users who either have EOS or WISH (an ERC20 token) when a blockchain snapshot is taken on October 16, 2018. |CADEOS||CADEOS, like the name suggests, is a project managment platfrom for collaboration on CAD files. It claims to offer a suite of services including design tools, data sharing, instant messaging and screen sharing. |Lumeos||Ownership of personal data is a driving factor for Lumeos, who have built a survey and questionaire app that rewards users for answering questions and sharing their data with third parties. The dapp is available on both desktop and mobile, with users being rewarded in LUME tokens. |GiveyNation||GiveyNation is a community fundraising dapp that aims to overcome issues of transparency and trust in the charity sector. |EOSBet||An online gambling portal built on the EOS blockchain, EOSBet aims to provide users with a decentralised, scalable and "provably fair" experience. |Patreos||Patreos is a platform aimed at fostering community between content creators and their audiences. As the name suggests, it is very similar to Patreon, albeit hosted on the EOS blockchain. Patreos boasts no fees, 100% of pledges going to creators, and enhanced features for supporters. |Evolution||A community-driven adaptation of the EOS.IO software, Evolution aims to create a truly decentralised EOS blockchain by evenly distributing tokens, preventing the pooling of votes by large stakeholders and increasing the number of Block Producers.
