4. Credit Score Terms and Conditions

Date: 21 February 2024

4.1 Introduction

These Credit Score Terms and Conditions (the "Credit Score Terms") govern the Credit Score Service provided by Finder through the Online Platform.

The Credit Score Terms form part of, and are incorporated by reference into, the Terms of Service.

Unless otherwise expressly defined in the Credit Score Terms, capitalised words and phrases used in the Credit Score Terms have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.

4.2 Credit Score Service

The services provided by Finder under the Credit Score Terms allow you to obtain:

  • access to your credit score and credit report held by Experian (section 4.8 (Credit Reporting Body)) and summarised by Finder in the Credit Score section of your Finder Account ("Summarised Credit Report");
  • access to Monitoring Feature (as defined in section 4.6 (Monitoring Feature); and
  • personalised insights and notifications via the Online Platform and electronic means (including email) based on, and related to, your Summarised Credit Report, including, without limitation, information about products and services that may be of interest to you,

("Credit Score Service")

We may, at our sole discretion, discontinue the Credit Score Service and delete all records of credit score, credit report and Summarised Credit Report data that we are not required to hold, if you have not accessed your Finder Account for more than 3 months.

4.3 Access Seeker

You authorise us as your Access Seeker under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) to request and obtain access to your credit score and credit report from Experian for the purpose of providing you with the Credit Score Service.

You acknowledge that our appointment as your Access Seeker will continue in force unless such time that:

  • you revoke our appointment upon written notice to us;
  • you opt-out of the Credit Score Service in your Finder Account;
  • we determine, at our sole discretion, to cease providing the Credit Score Service to you; or
  • your Finder Account is deleted.

4.4 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to use the Credit Score Service, you must create a Finder Account and pass our checks and meet our requirements to verify your identity to our satisfaction ("Verification").

4.5 Verification

Before you are able to opt-in to and use the Credit Score Service, we must be satisfied with the Verification result.

To facilitate Verification, you must complete and submit the online form in the Credit Score section of your Finder Account to provide us with the information and responses we require ("ID Information"). We will then use the Australian Government's Document Verification Service ("DVS") to verify the ID Information against the official record maintained in the document issuer or official record holder database.

By providing the ID Information to us, you:

  • agree to provide current and accurate information about and related to yourself only(and not any third party); and
  • authorise us to transmit and disclose the ID Information via the DVS to undertake and obtain a result for Verification.

If you encounter any issues during Verification you can contact us directly by clicking the Live Chat button on the bottom right corner of the Online Platform or emailing us at help@finder.com.

Where any systems relied upon or otherwise accessed or used for Verification purposes are unavailable, Finder may undertake Verification and verify your identity via alternative means and your obligations under this section of the Credit Score Terms will continue to apply.

4.6 Credit Score Service Monitoring Feature

As part of the Credit Score Service, we will monitor your credit score and credit report provided to us by Experian on an on-going basis (until such time that you opt-out) and will send you monthly notifications via email and the Online Platform to inform you of any change(s) ("Monitoring Feature").

When we enable access to the Credit Score Service on your Finder Account, you will automatically be opted-in to the Monitoring Feature and your Summarised Credit Report will automatically be updated in your Finder Account and notified to you via electronic means:

  • each month; or
  • more frequently, where any change(s) in your credit score or credit report occurs, more frequently and once we become aware of change(s).

We think this is a significant benefit to you but you can opt-out from the Monitoring Feature at any time by logging into your Finder Account.

4.7 How Finder Uses Data

We will only collect, use and retain your personal information where it is necessary for us to provide the Credit Score Service to you (including Verification) and comply with our legal obligations.

We will obtain your express permission before we collect or use personal information for other purposes, however we may retain personal information on an aggregated and non-personally identifiable basis for other purposes, such as improving our Services and the Online Platform. You acknowledge that comparisons may be based on dynamic

averages derived from anonymised data. Comparisons may incorporate unverified personal information submitted to Finder by our users so the results shown are indicative only and may not be more generally representative.

We won't ask you for personal information about someone else, but if you provide us with information about another person, you need to ensure that you are authorised to disclose that information to us.

More information about what personal information of yours is collected when we undertake Verification and provide the Credit Score Service to you, including how we collect and otherwise use, retain, share and otherwise manage your personal information is set out in the Finder Group Privacy & Cookies Policy.
