4. Credit Score Terms and Conditions

4.1 Introduction

The Credit Score Service is provided by Hive Empire Pty Ltd (“Finder”) and may be obtained through finder.com.au (“Site”) or the Finder App (together “the Online Platform”). Finder may be referred to as “we”, “us” or “our” in the Credit Score Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Together, you and we may be collectively referred to as “Parties”. These Terms are incorporated by reference into the Finder Terms of Service, which are found here: https://www.finder.com.au/terms-of-service.

4.2 Obtaining your Credit Report

You can obtain your current Credit Score, and in some cases your file from the Online Platform but you need to register for a Finder Account to receive your Credit Report. By doing so, you authorise us as your Access Seeker for the purposes of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and this appointment continues until your membership with Finder is cancelled.

In order to obtain your Credit Report, you need to be adequately identified and your information verified with the document issuer or official record holder. So we need to collect, retain and share the information required in order to provide you with your Credit Report.

We will only ask you for the information we need to provide you with the services, advice and information you request from us.

Where we retain your information, it will only be the information you have provided to us or the information you have asked us to source from third-parties and provide to you.

If you encounter any issues during the identity verification process, you can contact us directly through our contact us page.

In the event our verification systems are not in operation, Finder may use an alternative process to verify your identity.

Rest assured that we take your privacy seriously. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we use and secure the personal information you provide to us when using our Services.

By applying for your Credit Score, you're agreeing to provide current and accurate information about yourself and authorising us to access the Document Verification Service to confirm that information.

4.3 Finder's Credit Report Monitoring Service

As part of your Credit Report experience, registered users benefit from our Credit Report Monitoring Service.

By registering a Finder Account, you're opting-in to this service and you will automatically receive a Credit Report:

  • when your credit score or report changes; or
  • every month.

We think this is a significant benefit to you but you can opt-out from this service at any time.

We may, at our sole discretion, discontinue the Credit Report Monitoring Service and delete historical Credit Reports if you have not accessed your Finder Account for more than 3 months.

4.4 Using data

Generally, your personal information will only be collected and used with your express permission, but we will retain and use aggregated and non-personally identifiable data for other purposes.

Please appreciate that user comparisons are based on dynamic averages derived from anonymised data. Comparisons incorporate unverified personal data submitted to Finder by our users so the results shown are indicative only and may not be more generally representative.
Rest assured that we will, and do, take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss or unauthorised use.

We won't ask you for personal information about someone else, but if you provide us with information about another person, you need to ensure that you are authorised to disclose that information to us.

4.5 Credit Report

Your Credit Report presents data and information provided to us by Experian Australia Credit Services Pty Ltd (“Experian”). Experian is a leading global information services company and a credit reporting body under the Privacy Act. Experian does not collect, use or disclose your personal information other than as part of its credit reporting business. Experian’s Privacy Policy is incorporate by reference in its entirety, and can be accessed at https://www.experian.com.au/privacy-policy-terms-conditions.
