ATO website down again this weekend

The tax office continues work to restore online services.
The Australian Tax Office's (ATO) website will shut down for maintenance, again, this weekend as the department works to restore its online systems.
The site will be offline between 11.15pm (AEDT) Friday 13 January and 9am (AEDT) Sunday 15 January.
The ATO's contact centres will also be closed over the weekend.
Earlier this week the ATO said its services via myGov and the Australian Business Register remain operational and restoring the departing Australia superannuation payment (DASP) system was a priority.
DASP services were restored yesterday and can be accessed via the department's website.
In early December, the tax office experienced its "worst unplanned system outage in recent memory" as a result of storage hardware failure, compounded by the fact subsequent back-up systems also failed.
Since Christmas, the ATO has worked to revive online services, scheduling critical repairs on weekends.
The department needs to restore 1PB (around one million gigabytes) of data from backup storage.
"The performance of our core services such as the website and portals continue to improve and we are bringing other functions and tools back online every day," the ATO said in a statement on its website.
An independent review has been established to assess what caused the hardware failure and how to prevent it from reoccurring in the future.
