Top super funds this decade revealed: Is yours on the list?

Hostplus, AustralianSuper and Cbus are among the best performing funds over the last 10 years.
New data shows which super funds have earned the best returns for members over the past 12 months, and which have been best over the past 10 years.
Among the best-performing Balanced options over the 12 months was Raiz Super's Moderately Aggressive option which returned 12.4% across 2025, according to SuperRatings.
Other top performers last year include legalsuper's Balanced option at 11.3% and Hostplus's Balanced option at 10.5%.
However, super is a long-term investment. So it's best to look at the funds that have consistently done well year after year.

Top super funds this decade
Over the past 10 years the best-performing Balanced super options have all been major industry funds.
The top performing Balanced fund over the whole decade was Hostplus Balanced with an average return of 8.70% p.a. over the last 10 years.
Australian Retirement Trust's Balanced option was in second place with a return of 8.5% p.a. for the decade, followed by Hostplus Indexed Balanced at 8.30% and AustralianSuper Balanced at 8.20% p.a.
