why does it go up higher after 6 months and why does the prices rise at the drop of a hat ?
Hi Michael,
The price after 6 months is the normal price of the plan. NBN providers regularly offer introductory pricing to attract new customers. (The hope is that you will stick around and start paying full price.)
Fortunately, nearly all plans are month-to-month with no lock-in contract. This means you are free to switch providers as soon as each promotional offer ends.
As to the second part of your question, NBN Co updates its wholesale costs once per year following an annual pricing review. Most NBN providers pass the price increase onto customers. You can check out some of the latest price hikes here.
Young family internet needs in Frankston South, Victoria area. what is the best option for NBN?
Hi Carole,
If you aren’t downloading very large files on the regular for your business, an NBN 100 plan will be sufficient for your needs. These plans have a maximum download speed of 100Mbps, which is fast enough for gaming, streaming and data-heavy research across multiple devices.
Another thing to look out for is upload speeds which is important for things like video conferencing, website management and online gaming. Some NBN 100 plans have maximum upload speeds of 40Mbps while others struggle to reach 15Mbps.
You can check the typical upload speeds in the table above by clicking on each plan’s View Details section. Good luck!
