I was looking for a internet plan in my area. while most NBN plans are along the same service charges, Pineapple net are providing higher internet speed for the same rate as NBN service providers. How is it possible? is there any catch? Are the internet speed just for advertising?

Hi Rohit, while we don’t currently compare Pineapple Net on Finder since it’s services are limited to Melbourne and that too certain areas, their business model might allow them to keep prices low at this point so that they can be competitive against NBN. They should deliver on speeds that are being advertised but with any internet plan or connection, the only way to know for certain is to test out the plan yourself and if you have any issues, to reach out to their customer support. Unfortunately for us, there’s no sure way to know how reliable they are as the ACCC only reports speed reliability for the top 12 NBN providers in Australia. If you do choose Pineapple Net I would just read the terms and conditions to ensure that if you do have any issues you’re not tied into a contract and work out if there are any upfront costs besides the plan fees. I hope this helps and please do reach out if you need any further clarifications.

choice has judged aussie b/b as being the best in the last four years. why have you guys not covered them in your appraisel/

Hi Robin, if you untick the Finder Partner filter it should give you options from Aussie Broadband as well. Or, if you look at the filters on the left (assuming you’re on desktop), you can also select them as a provider specifically. On mobile, the filters should appear at the top. I hope this helps with a smoother comparison experience on Finder. Cheers!

I currently have internet and landline sevice provided by TPG. I am becoming increasingly disappointed with this service. I do not use the internet at night, however I like to browse on it during the day plus Facebook/Facetime, emails and just generally click on things that interest me. Lately landline has been randonly dropping out no L/L at all for hours, same with internet. This is becoming really frustrating. TPG not really much help at all. They do take monthly direct debits for internet and almost bi-monthly direct debits for L/L. What would you suggest would be a better proposition for me. I really need L/L as I rely on it. I do have mobile but am struggling learning how to use it. Thank you

Hi Mary, How frustrating for you. Lots of providers offer broadband service with a bundled landline/fixed phone service – you can compare offers here, so it would be worth seeing if you can find a better deal from someone else. That said, it’s hard to tell whether the issue you’re having is because of TPG or because there’s a broader issue with the broadband in your area – if it’s the latter, then changing providers might not fix it. But if you know there are alternatives you can turn to and you contact TPG and say you’re going to switch, you might get offered a better deal and/or get more attention on actually fixing the issue. Good luck!

    Hi
Live in a remote area an only have access to fixed Wi-Fi. Looking for best plan available as only use to watch the odd movie, email and some internet searching 2 people only

      Mariam Gabaji's headshotFinder
      MariamSeptember 17, 2024Finder

Hi Rob, when you say fixed wifi which internet type are you referring to? Assuming you don’t mean fixed line NBN since you’re in a remote area. Do you mean fixed wireless NBN? You can compare plans here: https://www.finder.com.au/broadband-plans/nbn/nbn-fixed-wireless-plans. Based on your requirements, an NBN 25 plan should suffice. When you decide on a provider, you’ll be able to pop in your address on their website and confirm their availability. Hope this helps. Do reach out if you have any other questions.
