More and Tangerine launch new international roaming packs with higher data allowances than before.

More and Tangerine have refreshed their international roaming travel packs for Aussies travelling overseas.

You'll be able to use them in 65 selected countries.

Here's what you can get:

International travel packCostData AllowanceStandard Voice CallsStandard SMS
7-day pack$355GB30 minutes30
14-day pack$5510GB60 minutes60

The roaming packs will work with any of More or Tangerine’s mobile plans. Both providers run on the Telstra network and are known to sling budget-friendly deals.

Given these roaming packs are from smaller providers, they're pretty decent in value as long as the data limits work for your needs over the 7 or 14-day duration.

In comparison, Vodafone charges $5 a day for its roaming add-on so you can use your mobile plan overseas as you would in Australia. Optus charges between $5 per day for 5GB of data.

They're both stronger alternatives but you'll end up paying more for signing up with the bigger telcos in general.

How do I use More and Tangerine's international roaming packs?

As long as you're a More and Tangerine customer, all you have to do is activate one of the travel packs by:

  1. Logging into your Self Care Portal via the provider's website
  2. Selecting the 'Mobile' tab and 'Active Mobile Services' from the dropdown
  3. Selecting the 'View' button on your mobile service
  4. Selecting 'Add Travel Pack' button, choose from the available travel packs and follow the activation instructions

You’ll also get alerts when you reach 50%, 85% and 100% of your travel perk inclusions. Any unused international inclusions will be forfeited when the expiry plan ends.

Once you've used up any of the individual inclusions, that feature will no longer be available for use and you will have to buy a new pack.

For example, if you use up your 30 minutes of voice calls on the 7-day pack, then you won't be able to make any more calls until you buy a new pack, even if you have your data or SMS allowance still available to you.

💡 Keep in mind - Roaming packs will work up until 11.59pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on the last day of your pack. So, if you activate at 2.00pm on Monday, your 5-day travel pack will cease to work at 11.59pm on Saturday.
