iiNet raises NBN prices – Aussie Broadband and others to follow suit

Key takeaways
- iiNet has increased the price of most of its NBN plans by $3 to $5 a month and will no longer offer its slowest NBN 12 plan.
- More price hikes have now been confirmed, with Aussie Broadband and Belong joining Optus and Telstra in raising NBN prices.
- These changes come ahead of wholesale NBN prices going up from 1 July. This is what providers pay to access the NBN network.
iiNet's new NBN prices are now live. Here's what's changed.
| Plan | Old monthly price | New monthly price | Price difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| iiNet NBN 25 | $76.99 | $79.99 | $3 |
| iiNet NBN 50 | $84.99 | $89.99 | $5 |
| iiNet NBN 100 and NBN 500 | $94.99 | $94.99 | No change |
| iiNet NBN 750 | $99.99 | $104.99 | $5 |
| iiNet NBN 1000 | $109.99 | $114.99 | $5 |
As you can see, most of iiNet's plans have increased in price, except for NBN 100 and NBN 500.
As a quick reminder, NBN 100 and NBN 500 plans are now often priced similarly - even though NBN 500 can deliver speeds up to 5 times faster. Availability depends on the type of NBN connection at your home.
iiNet has also removed its NBN 12 plan, which is the slowest speed tier available.
It's been gradually phased out across the market, and there are now only 5 providers in our database still offering NBN 12 plans.
