The Google Pixel 7a has come in hot as a budget-friendly alternatively to the fan favourite Pixel 7 series.

The Pixel 7a boasts a $749 price tag and you can get it as of 11 May on a phone plan from Telstra or Optus.

There might even be a freebie or 2 in store for you depending on who you sign up with.

Before we jump into the plans itself, here's a quick rundown of Pixel 7a's specs list.

  • Processor: Google Tensor G2 (same as the Pixel 7 Pro)

Google Pixel 7a plans from Optus

You can get the Pixel 7a on a phone plan from Optus over 12, 24 or 36 months.

Here's a look at minimum costs from Optus if you want to get the phone on a plan:

  • From $69.80 a month over 36 months (paired with its Small Optus Choice Plus Plan)
  • With a minimum total cost of $797.80

Signing up with Optus comes with some additional perks, such as:

  • Potential 5G network access depending on your location
  • No excess data charges
  • Option to share your data across eligible Optus Choice Plus plans on the same account
  • Access to Optus SubHub where you can manage eligible subscriptions in 1 place and save up to 10% when you bundle 3 or more subscriptions

Telstra's offering bonus Pixel Buds A-Series and a Pixel 7a Case if you sign up to its 12, 24 or 36-month phone plan by 24 May.

Existing Telstra customers can also buy it outright.

  • From $78.80 a month over 36 months (paired with its Upfront Mobile Plan Basic)
  • With a minimum total cost of $806.80

Signing up with Telstra will get you additional bells and whistles including:

  • No excess data charges
  • Telstra Plus points for rewards
  • Unlimited texts to standard international numbers and 30 minutes of free calls
  • 4-month subscription to Spotify Premium

Update: Vodafone will not be offering Pixel 7a plans so your options remain Telstra and Optus.
