Finder Green Fave: Boody Men’s Weekend Sweatpants

These pants are made from bamboo and cotton, blending sustainable design with comfort and style.

With Father's Day just around the corner, these Boody pants are worth considering as a sustainable gift for your loved ones.

A lot of trackpants and sweatpants are great for lounging around at home. These Boody pants are part of its athleisure range – and would work in other casual social settings.

They also feel soft and luxurious, thanks to fabric made from 68% organic bamboo and 27% organic cotton. The remaining 5% is elastane for the waist.

So they are breathable, comfortable and designed to be gentle on the planet.

What makes Boody Men's Weekend Sweatpants sustainable?

Boody is known for its bamboo clothes and underwear, so let's start there.

It uses bamboo that's grown organically, with no pesticides or other chemicals. It's also grown using only rainwater for irrigation, which is recycled and reused through the production process.

In comparison, cotton requires irrigation and uses an average of 6–7 megalitres of water per hectare. That's more than the average amount needed for fruit trees, nut trees or vegetables.

While these pants do have some organic cotton in them, they save 486 litres of drinking water compared to pants made from conventionally grown cotton according to data on the Boody website.

Like all Boody products, these pants are certified vegan. And 1% of online sales are donated through 1% For the Planet to non-profits that help protect the environment.

Boody is also a certified B Corp, which means it meets high standards for social and environmental impact.

It has clear details on its website about sustainable and ethical practises. This includes independent certifications for all its factories to make sure they are run ethically and humanely.

We tried them and love them

I bought these pants as a gift for my partner, who wears them a lot.

They look great and are more stylish than I expected, especially when worn with a top that covers the waistband tie, which gives them away as sweats.

The pockets sit nicely, even when there's stuff in them. I can imagine the hidden coin pouch coming in handy for lowkey outdoor activities.

I would actually buy some for myself if they came in a small enough size.

Both of us already have a lot of Boody clothes (and I've reviewed the 3/4 sleeve top before) but what really stands out for me is the thickness of the fabric. It's not too heavy but is warm enough for mild days and cool enough if it gets into the low 20s.

Where can I get them?

Boody Men's Weekend Sweatpants retail for $79.95 and come in grey marl or black, with sizes from S to XL. You can shop directly through the Boody website and other online stores, including THE ICONIC and Amazon.

Boody products are also available in-store at select pharmacies, health stores and other retailers, with over 1,500 partners across Australia and New Zealand.
