Apple likes to go big with its prices, so it's only fair to look for the cheapest way to get its latest gadget, the new iPhone 14.

Prices for the iPhone 14 line-up start at $1,399 and go up to $2,769, which is a lot of money to spend.

It's probably why you're looking for the cheapest way to get Apple's new tech without breaking the bank.

Here's what you can do.

Cheapest way to get an iPhone 14: Short term

Getting an iPhone 14 on a phone plan over 36 months might be your best answer as it means you'll be paying a smaller amount each month.

Vodafone offers the cheapest phone plan out of all the major carriers – the other 2 being Optus and Telstra. Plus it's giving $150 in bonus credit if you have an eligible phone in good working condition to trade in.

For example, an iPhone 13 (128GB) model could get you $675. Add on Vodafone's $150 bonus credit and you're looking at $825 in total savings.

Here's a quick rundown of starting prices for each of the iPhone 14 models (128GB) if you were to pair either of the phones with Vodafone's cheapest mobile plan ($40 for 40GB) over 36 months.

  • Keep in mind. Before signing up with Vodafone (or any other telco for that matter), make sure your property receives good signals.

Getting a cheap $2 SIM could be your way to test this out if you haven't been with Vodafone before. It's a little bit of work but at least you won't be stuck with patchy signals for 36 months.

Cheapest way to get an iPhone 14: Long term

Sometimes, if you're going to break the bank, you might as well do it in one go – but only if it doesn't put you in a tight spot.

Buying your iPhone 14 outright will always be the cheapest option in the long run.

That's because you won't be tied to Telstra, Optus or Vodafone as their plans tend to be pricier than the smaller providers. And you can keep switching whenever you want to get bigger and better discounts.

If you end up buying the iPhone 14 outright, you can compare mobile plans on Finder to get the best deal or check out cheap plans for under $20.
