When selecting a provider to transfer money to Hungary, here are the main factors to consider:
Compared to a month ago, the Australian dollar is stronger against the forint. Currently, $5,000 is worth Ft1,266,284.50, whereas a month ago, $5,000 was equivalent to Ft1,101,750.00. That's an increase of 14.93% over the past month.
Similarly, compared to a year ago, the Australian dollar is again stronger against the forint. A year ago, $5,000 was equivalent to Ft1,225,450.00. That's an increase of 3.33% over 12 months.
So based on those two data points, yes, it's a relatively good time to send money to Hungary, and your Australian dollars will go further than they would have. But what's more important, however, is the strength of the Australian dollar against the forint and where it goes from here – which is harder to call.

i want to know how much is the highest amount i can receive through western union in budapest hungary, if am sending euro to my family in budapest through western union, how much is the highest euro i can send?
Hello Presh,
With regards to Western Union International Money Transfer, at present, the maximum amount that can be transferred through Western Union will depend on the sender’s preferred amount to transfer. But please note that every amount has a corresponding transfer fee.
You can lodge a transfer with Western Union either online or in person, and transfers can be sent 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can send funds from your credit card, debit card, bank account or cash, to a bank account, a mobile phone, or a prepaid card.
Also, it has a minimum of at least $10, while you’ll need to visit a branch if you want to transfer an amount greater than $5,000. For additional information, please read our Western Union review.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Harold
Hi Presh,
Thanks for your question.
The maximum amount you can send will depend on the method and any legal restrictions placed in the country you want to send money to.
If you are sending online, you can send up to 1,000 Euro within a 12 month period. There’s typically no limit when sending via a Western Union agent (branch), however the amount you send may require you to provide certain documents.
Regards
Clarizza
