What's a SWIFT code?

The SWIFT code is what all banks around the world use to identify themselves. They're generally 8–11 characters, made up of letters and numbers.

Let's look at one of the above examples. One of NAB's SWIFT codes in Australia is NATAAU3303M. The first part (NATA) is the four-letter bank code. The next two digits (AU) are the country code. The following two (33) are the location code, while the last three digits are the branch code (03M).

I am in Brisbane. Money sent from Switzerland was somehow returned two weeks ago. What SWIFT CODE shall the sender from Switzerland use to an NAB Account in Brisbane.?
    So many codes under NAB.
Previously it was sent to Melbourne…. and hence returned to the sender.
    Appreciate your advice
    Thank you
