The short answer is yes, but there is more than one clock ticking and they are easy to mix up. Four separate timeframes apply to a Finder Reward:
- the expiry on the offer itself
- the window you have to claim a reward once it is available
- the window you have to redeem your reward code and collect your digital Visa gift card, and
- the validity of the digital Visa card you receive.
Here is how each one works so you know exactly what to watch before a reward slips away.
So how long do I actually have?
Think of it as four clocks, in order.
First, take up an offer before its expiry. Each offer has its own expiry date, and that date is shown on the offer itself. Always check it before you sign up, because once the offer expires you can no longer take it up.
Second, claim an available reward within 6 months. Once eligibility is confirmed, the reward appears in the Finder Rewards dashboard and the customer has 6 months to claim it. If you do not claim it within that window, the offer lapses and the reward is no longer available.
Third, you will receive an email which gives you 90 days to activate/redeem the code. Once claimed, the digital Visa gift card code (issued by our gift card partner, Blackhawk) must be activated within 90 days.
Finally, once you have redeemed your code and received your digital Visa card via email, you have 3 years to spend it before it expires.
A couple of extra points worth knowing. Cancelled, refunded or reversed transactions are not eligible for a reward, so the transaction needs to stick for the reward to count. And some offers require you to keep the product active for a minimum hold period before the reward is confirmed, so check the offer terms for anything like that.
