Finder Green Fave: innisfree Simple Label Mascara
These vegan-certified, eco-friendly mascaras are easy on the eyes and on the environment.
South Korean beauty brand innisfree has long been part of the natural movement, priding itself on its "eco-friendly green life" practices.
From using clean ingredients to launching recycled products, the label makes a mission out of delivering healthy beauty that preserves the balance of nature.
Recently, the brand took things one step further with the launch of a new clean makeup line titled Simple Label. The line currently comprises just five products, but the mascaras in particular have already caught our attention.
Available in both Long & Curl and Volume & Curl versions, innisfree is touting the mascaras as a "clean beauty breakthrough" due to their clean, vegan certified formula.
What makes innisfree Simple Label mascara green?
Using a bamboo-derived fibre component and a volcanic ash-derived powder, the Simple Label Mascaras have been created with what innisfree refers to as "good ingredients".
The products are the end result of extensive research into naturally-derived, vegan ingredients which are safe for daily use and stress-free for the eyes.
As an added bonus, the natural formula is also hypoallergenic, making it ideal for those like me who find many eye products to be unduly irritating.
The mascara packaging is meanwhile made from recycled, eco-friendly cartons made from sugar cane paper and soy ink, making the products an all-round green beauty buy.
We tried it and liked it
Naturally, a beauty product doesn't just have to be eco-friendly to be worth the spend – it has to look good too.
Having tried out both the Volume & Curl Mascara and the Long & Curl Mascara for myself though, I can confirm that they are worth the purchase.
While not as bold and dramatic as the mascaras that I usually wear, both iterations are perfect for achieving a more natural, professional look.
The inky black formula drastically darkens lashes, while each wand does a decent job of curling and lengthening. I will admit that I didn't notice a huge difference between the two types, but I was happy with the end result either way.
True to their waterproof claims, the mascaras also don't budge, flake or smudge throughout the day. While this is great news with winter just around the corner, I would recommend investing in a Face Halo or some micellar water if you ever want to get them off again.
Where can I get it?
Currently, Simple Label products are exclusive to innisfree, which means you'll either need to head in-store or over to the innisfree site to make a purchase.
Given that major online retailers Adore Beauty and iHerb stock innisfree though, we're expecting to see the Simple Label range become more widely available soon.
Both versions of the mascara retail for just $25, making them a fairly affordable alternative to many others on the market.
